In 2006, the Klaus Rajewsky Stiftung, originally called Mouse Genetics Cologne (MGC) Foundation, was established by Prof. Klaus Rajewsky to honour and continue his research for understanding immunological diseases and cancer. The Rajewsky lab at the Institute for Genetics, University of Cologne, had since the 1990s developed numerous genetic mouse models that have become valuable tools for the biomedical research community. Since its establishment, the Klaus Rajewsky Stiftung supports scientific progress by licensing these mouse models to industrial partners, helping translate research into new therapies.
"My aim is to make the animal
models as widely available as possible
for research and drug development."
